Well yesterday was my 4 year wedding anniversary and can you guess what I did on my anniversary...that's right, I went fishing!
We managed to pawn the little man off on Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend so mom and dad could spend some QT together. Well since we managed to get the weekend together I was told to go fishing with a buddy on our anniversary! What a woman I have!
I toted the boat to work so we could make a quick escape in hopes of being on the water by no later than 4, we accomplished this goal and boated the first fish at 3:30pm.
Our objective was to hit wood and pads throwing nothing but Power worms as the area had been getting pretty pounded by buzz baits, frogs and jigs lately. I'd have to say that overall our theory proved to have worked as we boated a total of 14 fish for the night. Most fish were in the 14-16" range and we did manage one 17 3/4" fish as the big fish for the evening.
The fish really bit well in the pads from about 3-5pm and then in the wood from 5-dark. It was a beautiful afternoon on the water besides the humidity.
