I'm not sure where to post this, so I thought I may get some info here...
I am heading up to the Ladysmith area in a couple weeks, and will be fishing the flowage in that area. What can I expect? What kind of tackle should I bring...what kind of fish are in there? What time of day is best?
Just looking for some general information...any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

GM:
I think you will be fishing Dairyman's Flowage (dammed Flambeau River). You should be able to find smallies without much problem. After that muskies, walleye and most panfish species should be available.

drift/jig the cribs out in the main part of the lake and you can catch about anything. Trolling up the channel towards the dam is also a good producer for consistent eyes and lots of muskies. I would say the dairyland is probably the most underrated body of water within a 75 mile radius. Stop in at the Ace Hardware in town; they have a map in the back with GPS coord. and names of the structure made by Rusk County Wildlife Restoration Association. I'm pretty sure the walleye limit is still two fish and only one can be larger than 14 inches. There should be a sign at the landing if it has changed. I'll pm ya some more info if I get it in front of me.

Great, thanks guys. Also good to know the slot for the walleyes. I'll have to take a look at the map in the hardware store to see where those cribs are...maybe ask them a few questions as well.
I like hearing that it is "under-rated". I enjoy catching smallies a lot, and also wouldn't mind to try my hand at a muskie.
