Great Bite

#697700 - 08/05/08 08:46 AM

Just got home from a great week on the lake. Even with the windy days the bite was great. Deeper water in the 26' to 32' range. Fish of all lengths were caught. We had better luck on spinners w/ medium sized shinners.
On my son's first knot he tied himself he caught a 40" northern. Unfortunatly I dropped him in the water before we could get a picture but he was all smiles none the less.

I stopped at a camp site for shore lunch and was impressed with how nice the camping areas are and am going to try it with both kids next trip.

Hit a rock in the bruel narrows right next to a bouy in the channel. Bent and took out some of the skag. Thank god I was at closed throttle. I thought the navigation channels were clear. Live and learn.

Rainy is a great lake. Hoping to get back in October to put it to bed. Last year at that time we also had outstanding fishing.
