while looking for walleye on the transistion from mud to rock sw of Hennepin Island, we had a couple hard hits and our bait was missing, thinking we found a pod of sm bass we anchored, ended up being some nice perch, a few jumbo's. We thew about a dozen into the livewell before heading in. One of the perch spit out a crawdad, so I cut it up, man did they go crazy. If you have some shoreline rocks, catch a few crawdads and use them, even a claw on the end of a chunk of crawler worked. Both jigs laying on the bottom or a slip bobber worked. Need to find the big boulders in about 26 fow. Only had a short window to be out, so we made the most of it. Can't wait for this fall, perch during the day, walleye at night, fish for breakfast and supper, can it get any better?
Cool tip on the crawdaddies! And it wouldn't be hard to catch a bunch along the shorelines. I know they can get rediculously thick under the landing lights at Hunters at night.
