I have a friend who is confined to a wheelchair for life. He lives and breathes fishing. He has a pontoon boat that will accomadate his power chair. I was wondering about trolling Pepin or tactics to get him some fish. I know P4 like the backa mind hand, but haven't been there for a month or so. Any tips appreciated. Thanks, wkw
Roeschen Park (Sp?) in Lake City would be a good place to launch and should be pretty wheel chair accessible. The pull past Dairy Queen, and across by Pepin Pier to Deer Island provide some long straight runs to pull lead. Fish are going there the last I heard on Shad Raps and Lead line in 15-20 FOW.
Tuck is right on. Launched there last Sunday. Focus on pulling #5 Jointed Shad raps in Red Craw. If you have 4 rods, I'd probably load up all four rods on that color. Don't plow the bottom, but make sure you "touch" here/there.
You can't troll fast enough. I'd run about 3mph. With that said, make darn sure your cranks are in "tune" at that speed. You can even troll faster (3.5mph)
Honestly, we caught quality fish from 5fow to 18fow and everything inbetween. Watch your locator for fish/bait balls.
PM if you want more details.....

Now I guess his trailer his trash, so I'm looking for a pontoon to rent in the Lake City area. Sat. morning for a few hours, depending on the bite.Any ideas?? Too bad I can't put him in my Tuffy !!
Got hooked up with Ralph Dierks outta Red Wing and his pontoon boat. 7:30-noon. Between the two of us we should be able to find Jess a few eyeballs. Pics to follow, good Lord willing.
