Lake Minnewaska.

#698447 - 08/07/08 11:17 AM

I've got a reliable person who's out there the last 2 day's and are putting the smack down on the gills! My Mom and Dad are pulling them in as fast as you can get the line in the water! Mom say's it's just a blast. Morning and evenings in the pencil reeds in about 5 ft. of water. During the day it's out about 10-12 ft. above the weeds about 4' down.My parents are in their 70's and don't get to do it much anymore so I gave them a few tricks and they're having a blast!

We pounded them last winter out there too

I didn't know that there are gills in the lake.

Heading up there for my wife and I's 1 year anneversary, will be staying at WaskaWood across from Torgey's the 21-24th. I'd like to target eyes, but i'm sure my wife will be happy with some good sunny action. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Never fished the lake this late in the year before.

Hey Has....Congrats on the 1st ann.! My parents were up there last week Tues.- Friday and did very well on the sunfish in the pencil reeds. I'm sure they were just up the lake from Torgy's in the strech between Woodlawn resort and the High School point. If they're not there....Go out in about 12' and drift till you find a school. Put your depth at about 5-6 feet.

I haven't been out lately and have not heard much about the bite. I hope to get out soon. switching jobs and trying to get the house ready to sell.

Any update on the Walleye Bite on Minnewaska? They should be turning on pretty soon.

I don't think they really stopped. I haven't been out too much this summer but when I did there were fish to be caught. Try trolling a #6 shad in about 20 fow. The weeds get so high the bait should be right above them. Been able to do this all summer and find fish.
