I finally took my first trip ever to Lake Wissota. I had a couple of huge disadvantages when I got out there, one I never fished or been on Wissota before, two I had NO lake map so I had no idea where I was or where I was going. There are channels that just go everywhere??? SO I found a spot on the north end of the lake that had a few humps and pulled 2 16inch walleye and 1 crappie and missed at least 8 fish in this particular spot pulling spinner rigs with green blade and a bronze blade, bronze getting the most action. Later in the evening I moved down towards the State park (thats where I launched) but still on the big lake and was pulling the same set-ups on a different set of humps/structure and got a HUGE hit this fishn was massive but I must have had a weak spot in my line cause it snapped quickly after hook set and I lost the whole rig. So I tied back up, did another pass and managed to catch a little channel cat about 18 inches. Most fish were taken from 12-24 FOW. Also spent some time on a back channel pulling in sunnies from under a fallen tree.

All and all it wasnt too bad of a trip my prop took a beating due to not knowing where I was going and what depths are around the lake. I am suprised they dont have bouys out on the lake marking these shallow area's. I will be back hopefully with a lake map and a better idea of where I am going. I had a good time and enjoyed the lake alot

Yup get a map, when the lake opens up there is a HUGE flat to the south or left, you can troll that whole north shorline all summer long and do well once you learn all the under water points that come in and out, next time you come out drop a line and I will try to help you out!
