HOLY S!!!! I can't imagine that much muscle swinging, chasing me, killing me for three 5 minute rounds. I'll give the guy credit he fought, he never seemed to give up.

Brock is a stud athlete and a beast on top of it. He will run through most of the guys he fights. He might stumble a bit with a guy who has real solid ju-jitsu, but in time he will be able to defend that as well. I hope he finds a little humility though as he was kind of a putz after the fight. The respect most MMA guys have it a big reason why it's an awesome sport!

Lesnar needs to work on his submission and ground skills since he missed a rear naked choke for half the first round, no wonder Frank Muir got Lesnar to tap out. Lesnar is about the same MMA skill level as Kimbo Slice with lots of potential but he needs to work on a better rounded game to be a top level competitor.

To say Lesner is no better than Kimbo is a joke.Lesner is a nathional champion athlete.Kimbo is a street Brawler. Lesner did the right thing by not takeing the choke,he was playing it safe by staying in a position he knew he could control. In time hopfully his ju jitsu gets better to were he is more comfortable with submissions.Until then i see him imposing his will at a controled pace while he systematiclyrips his opponents limbs off. I agree it didnt help his fan base out by doing what he did after the fight and i didnt like it either but i guarantee it gained the UFC some fans out of hatred for the guy.

Don't toss out Kimbo slice as if he was "just" a street brawler. He used to be a heck of an athlete himself playing football - some people's circumstances just take them in different directions....and that's what happened to Kimbo.....his direction ended up in the streets. I agree that Brock is the better athlete, i'm just saying don't count out Kimbo as just a street thug. Their fighting styles would actually match up well. Both are up and coming MMA fighters and I gaurantee the fight would probably draw a record viewing.

I would take Kimbo the street fighter over Lesnar the WWF actor anytime. On the streets the hits are for real and Slop is correct Kimbo was a football player. I'm not a fan of either really, just watch a Cung Lee fight if you want to see the best of the sport and pound for pound the toughest in any MMA league. Just my opinion but i've been watching since 1987 so i've seen alot of the "other" types.

FYI Lesnar was more then a WWF actor.

Lesnar vs Kimbo would be no contest. Anyone who knows what it takes to be a Division I National champion in wrestling and how well that translates to MMA knows that Lesnar is the real deal.
He was crushing Mir until he got caught in a leg lock. That fight could have been stopped 3-4 times prior to the tap out.
Kimbo is still a one dimensional striker who almost lost to a cherry picked nobody in his third-fourth tier circuit debut. Until Kimbo beats a known UFC fighter, he will just be a youtube phenom. Hell, that cop (Sean Rice?) beat the crap out of Kimbo. And he is a virtually unknown.
Brock might not be the greatest MMA fighter yet, but he has the tools to be one of their most dominant fighters.

You are correct he was actually a WWE actor and MN Vikings training dropout.
He will never be champion in a major MMA circuit, not even close, and hopefully Kimbo has the same poor results.

What don't you understand?
Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college.

WWE actor Viking drop out does not overshadow the fact this guy is a stud has awesome wrestling skill that will make him a ground and pound force to be rekoned with. The only chink in his armor is a submission specialist could have his way with Lesnar. But when Lesnar gets better in that skill he will be (nearly) unstoppable. of course this is just my opinion

If he gets good at submission, he becomes more than unstoppable, but down right freakish scary.

Both Kimbo and Brock need to learn different aspects to compete in MMA. However, Brock by far, is heads and tails above Kimbo. You can't teach size and strength, and the fact that he is a world class wrestler doesn't hurt. Even Mike Tyson in his prime would get worked in MMA with only a stand up game. I think a lot of people were surprised when Brock lost to Frank, but remember, Frank was the heavyweight champ!! He was flat out more skilled than Brock, and he took advantage of it. A little more experience and Brock would have put Frank away for sure. He tapped out to an ankle lock for crying out loud, just plain inexperience is all. Brock WILL be fun to watch!

Well said and I totally agree. I have not seen a lot of MMA matches but quite a few. I can say that I have seen a lot of title fights and Brock has such great control of his body and positioning that his last opponent tried to go to his back to get in the guard and only achieved it once. I believe because of Brocks great wrestling ability, body positioning, and hips this gives him a leg up on everyone. Sooner or later he will learn some jujitsu and submissions holds. That was the first match I have ever seen someone takes someone’s back for 3/5ths of the fight. The problem is usually if that happens once or twice the chances are the fight is over. Those skills will come in time. As far as punching power, if that punch would have hit the jaw of that guy the other night it would have been over before it began. Luckily it hit the guy square in the head and sent him tumbling backwards. I have said many times before: In a fight day in day out, I will take a great wrestler over anybody.
As far as Mir goes, he got lucky. Smart but lucky. Lesnar was beating him to a pulp before Brock made the mistake and walked right into that ankle lock. Brock knew it as soon as he did it. Credit to Mir, but that could have easily went the other way. Will Brock be as great as most think? I’m not sure, but I know Brock is one determined SOB to be that good.

I don't think Lesnar really has to learn any submission holds, just some much better submission defense. He can put guys out with his ground and pound and just sheer size and strength as long as he keeps himself from getting submitted.
I would like to see him step up with someone good, but the heavyweight division of UFC is it's weakest right now. Would have liked to see him fight Tim Sylvia before Sylvia got destroyed by Fedor.

Kimbo "Glass Jaw" Slice
14 seconds and it was all over, coming to a back yard brawl near you in south Florida, back to his roots to work on his "brawling" style of fighting against former inmates and street thugs.
