So does anyone know what the water levels are looking like up there? The Sioux City Open is coming up in a couple weeks. I checked the USGS site and it looks like the water is on the way up and only about 2 feet below normal conditions for this time of year. I don't know if I will get into the tournament, but a trip to Verdel isn't out of the question. The water looks up there. Has anyone been up there recently to confirm the water conditions?
Jason, The water is up here too. A lot of the islands/sandbars that were exposed up river from Ponca are now under water. Whether it will stay that way or not, who knows?

I was at SiouxCity last weekend and it wasn't bad. The water seemed to be about like last year but that doesn't meen a guy just puts the hammer down and drives. I need to find my way around the sandbars before I take off and run.
Was at Verdel a couple weekends ago and water levels were back to normal. It still seemed dirty compaired to most years, the fish don't have much color, but we got into a couple pockets with some nice smallies. A lot seemed to depend on raising or falling water. When its up or rising all the clean water is push back into the reeds. Falling or down and the clean water comes back out.
not sure about below the dam but there is plent of water in the lake all the way up to sunshine bottoms. of course you need to be careful and bring lots of rope. the water clarity up by verdel turned sub par late last week which really hurt the fishing buut that can changein a day.
was out last night and the river is up at least a couple of feet, all kinds of tree parts coming down. Sure would have liked to wet a line, just out with the kids and the dog. I'd have to guess, but I think they are letting water out of Lewis and Clark. Be careful.
