I have a quick question! I can't get up to Mille Lacs to fish for smallmouth for a couple of weeks. My question is will they still in the same places they are now and what methods would you use to catch them?

Yep, they will still be in the water

OK, OK. They will still be on the rocks. I have caught them up shallow into Oct. so you should be good untill you can get back up there. I like throwing tubes and sencos for those smallies.

Hey Slider, When you say shallow, are they rock up on top of the boulders? Have you ever tried fishing around the seagulls? I have to imagine that they are chasing bait fish, and hence the smallies will be right below them. You see guys fishing Erie that way..

Sometimes right on top, sometimes on the first break which could be 4-6 feet. I know a few guys that fish that fish deeper, I never had a reason. Quote:

I do not like their air mail surprises
