Two Rivers Action

#700383 - 08/14/08 07:13 PM

The action continues today, with the downriggers with big green or wonderbread flashers with purple worm or green Loner flies doing most of the action. 100-130 feet down in 140-180 feet of water. The east west troll direction was key along with staying away from the boat traffic. We also pulsed our speed which gave us fish where other boats near us could not get hit. There is a strong current so you need to experiment with speeds to get it right each day.

Good job and thanks for the report, they are some nice fish, I will be heading to Algoma the middle of next week I hope the cool water comes in, I can only run a few lines as deep as you guys have been running.
Keep the reports coming, and good luck the rest of the season.

I do not have a sub-troll. speed this weekend varied, to keep the boat going straight with the wind.

Here's the two days catch from the Browns trip. A tough bite for us but a few nice fish made it to the cooler. A few beers and some smelt and day two was about the same. Day two we sat on one fish untill a banana went flying out the window of the boat and almost instantly we started hitting fish. We proved the old wise tale of you can't catch fish if there are bananas on the boat. We had alot of fun out there, see ya next year.

Great report and thanks. We will be working in the area almost the whole month of Sept. Guys I work with are talking about the last week of Sept. We all fish a lot and have our own boats, but nothing set up for fishing that type of water. Big question is( too late to make reservations for that time of year?) Talking 8-16 people. Don't want to be crowded. Will pay for more boats. Interested reply. Will know this next week for sure how many. Thanks.

Art,
You would need 3 boats, it's a max. of 6 per boat.
There should be no problable getting some boats togeather for the end of Sept.
