Rum River Update

#701800 - 08/21/08 12:04 PM

So we got out on Wednesday at 6:00 am. Finally was able to get some pictures on our cell phones.

We caught about 30 fish with RyanK taking most of the action. It seemed the pike loved me today. I must have caught 7-8 pike with the biggest being 27 inches. RyanK got into a good veriety of fish. He had 4-5 pike, 10 or so smallies (biggest weighing in at 4 pounds) and around 6 walleye (biggest running 18 inches).

Most of the time we used deep diving raps #5 or #7 with also throwing a spinner out from time to time.

I have included some of the pictures here.

All and all it took us 10 hours this time and was a great trip. Other then me having to go to work after!

men! You can get into some big northerns on the Rum. About a month from now they will start going nuts. We used to fish jigs and minnows for walleyes and sometimes we'd get bit off 20 or more times a trip.
