After a weeks long vacation with 400+ miles logged with a 5 year old and a 3 year old I needed a break today! It's been almost 3 years since I went smallmouth fishing on this small stream. I was due to go back!
Today was just what I was looking for! I treated myself with a new rod and reel from Angler's Nook and with 2 dozen crawlers I was on my way!
Talk about fun! I caught many small ones under 10" and a few hogs!!! Below are some pictures I took today. A bonus walleye was landed. I was floored! Again, I was fishing a VERY small stream!
The bass in these pictures were 17 and 1/4" 16" and 14" I never measured the walleye! Plenty of suckers, and a surprise soft-turtle!
Looks like you had a blast Jay!! Gotta love those stream smallies, even the little fellers pull hard. I've heard more and more fisherman are catching walleyes in these small streams. It's a nice surprize when one of them shows itself.

always heard those softshells were kind of mean... then you have the smallies which have a great rep as fighters...
so what's with the 'poser' in the group? assume you thought you'd hooked a paper bag until it was close enough to see scales?
