Draggin' for Flats

#702427 - 08/25/08 05:46 AM

Steve, Realitor Ron and I were draggin' (trolling up stream at .5 miles per hour) through a known flathead wintering hole last night with cut shad and sucker.

Felt a log that had a head shake.

Ron netted my first draggin' flathead. I'm guessing about 11 pounds. Besides Ron's 4ish pound sheepie, it was a quiet night. We came off the river early to ensure we could stay awake at work today. (inside joke)

I bet the fish get a confused look on their face when they see a dead piece of cutbait drifting upstream. Heck, I'd eat that too!

Must have been my "natural" presentation.

We tried drifting down stream...nary a nibble.
