Fished the Sioux City tournament last weekend. Always a great event with the Saturday night steak fry and Calcutta. Then continental breakfast before blats-off and brats/beer/pop lunch after. Payouts this year $1000/1st, $800/2nd, & 750/3dr on down to $100/8th with 26 boats entered. They also paid $200 big bass both large and smallmouth and 5places in the Calcutta. It's been bigger and better in the past but for the $100 entry I don't know where I could do better.
Fish'n wasn't bad either. Several limits wieghed in and everybody caught fish. 1st place had over 16pounds, we came in 3rd with 13+. From what I heard some boats went down river with others scattered up stream all the way to Yankton. More room to spread out than any other place close but then I like the river for getting away from the crowd.

I wished I could have been there this year. Talk to Bob Walla this morning and he said he and his dad, JR won with 16.25 pounds. He said they had 5 largemouth and 2 smallies that were each over 3 pounds. I guess they had the big smallie of the tournament too. He said the water was up a bit from last year. Good job on the 3rd place finish Dan.

Thanks, You'll have to watch for it next year. The tournament came close to die'n this year but some "new blood" jumped in at the last minute and it came out great. With their help for next year maybe the prize money will be back up there but with $1000 to win it still aint bad. Even the little they threw together at this tournament paid 8 places plus $200 big bass for both large and smallmouth. Not many other tournaments in this area that offer as much.
