Just got back from my first ever fishing trip to Mille Lacs. Caught 2 Smallmouths and a bunch of nice Largemouths. Both Smallies were caught Monday afternoon on a spinnerbait right in front of Izatys, about 10 minutes apart. First fish was 15", (picture), and the second was about 10". Largemouths were pulled from the reeds, and EVERY ONE weighed between 2-1/2 and 4 lbs. No largemouth pics, wife confiscated the camera. I tried everything on every rock pile between Cove Bay and Isle Bay, but couldn't even get another strike. Didn't help that it stormed Tuesday and Wednesday night. One thing I did learn is that you spend a lot of time getting your lures dislodged from the rocks!

Very nice, those smallies sure are a blast to catch, they put up a great fight! I'm not 100% sure but I'd think there are a few swimming around the Minnesota River right in Shakoppee...
