I found a used Minnkota Genesis, 74lb, Autopilot, and Universal Sonar with a 60" shaft. How much is something like that worth? Thanks.

Can you get it serviced still?? They had so many problems with that motor when it first hit the market.

I heard there were problems with them...but I love mine. I had the opportunity to trade it in for a new motor (PD I think) but opted to stay with the Genesis.
The second day I had it, I had a problem where the motor would not deploy. All I had to do was tighten a bolt for the drive belt. Completely stow and deploy then tighten again. That was 5 years ago.

I suppose you could get a bit of money for the copper winding from the stator in the motor.

From the poeple who had good ones, they loved them.
I found a Genesis fitting the bill for my application, I'm going to check it out Tuesday. It's a 74 lb thrust with a 60" shaft. It also has Autopilot and universal sonar. Any thing I should look for specifically?
