Will leaches still work this time of year for Walleye? I will be fishing the mississippi river in a week from now

Check out the video on the home page titled:
" Fall temps= Big river walleye"
and that should give you an answer

I'll run leeches well into Oct. Both lakes and rivers.

They work great , but hopefully you stocked up on them by the pound a few weeks ago . They will be tough to find now at most bait dealers.
( try Gulp leeches)
