After about a month of not being on the Croix I made the 2 block trip and put the boat in the water. It was a fairly decent day as far as fishing went with a mixed bag to report. I ended the day with good results. water temps were hanging rite around 66.6* to 67.2* 1 22in channel cat (released) 1 26in channel cat (released) 1 14in sauger (released) 1 15in sauger (kept for the fry pan) 1 17in sauger (kept for the fry pan) 1 23in walleye (released in hopes of catching him on the 27th, karma please work your magic ) over 12 missed bites and the biggest small mouth I've ever seen , it made the 22in cat look small but the sad thing is as I was going to net him the hook came flying into the boat I apoligize to the folks who live in St.Croix valley and heard a thunderous f-n-hiemer this morning SORRY . Needless to say I never got the chance to tape the HUGE smallmouth if I were to guess I would go 6 pounds MINIMUM that thing was a monster Sorry due to up coming tourney depths and presentations will not be revealed
Here's the saugy's (no camera in the boat this morning)
i dropped a big f-bomb on friday, sorry to the 5 boats and people on shore. fishing with a jig and crawler when i had a big hit. fish on and i thought it was a big sheepie. when it came up it was probally a 15" perch that looked like a football. anyway it was barely hooked and then poof it was gone. again im sorry, dan
We were out playing in the rain today also and did fairly well. We ended up with a dozen 'eyes with three between 15.5" - 18". We also had a 5lb channel, 12" crappie, two white bass and numerous poor mans' crappie (sheepie). All and all it was wat but fun 5 hours. Sorry about no pictures the weather was too darn wet.
