I AM GOING ON A HUNTING/FISHING TRIP TO LAKE OF THE WOODS CANADA. I AM LEAVING ON THE SEPT 27TH. I WILL BE ON MILES BAY AREA NEAR MORSON. I HAVE NEVER FISHED MUCH IN THE FALL. I'M LOOKING FOR ANY INFO ON FALL WALLEYE AND CRAPPIE FISHING IN THAT AREA. I HAVE HEARD THAT THE WALLEYE ARE VERY HARD TO CATCH THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. ANY INFORMATION THAT ANYONE HAS ON THIS IT WOULD BE APPERCIATED. IF YOU HAVE GROUSE AND DUCK INFO TO PASS ON I WILL CERTAINLY USE IT. THANKS SO MUCH.

If you asked any of my canadian friend's all they would tell you is a jig and a minnow. That is all they fish with all year round for walleyes and northerns or just about anything that will bite. When we were up there in August, we caught a lot of walleyes back trolling bottom bouncers with crawler harneses over rock reefs in 20 to 30 feet of water. Our bigger walleyes were caught using bottom bouncers and crank baits we just didn't catch as many. In the fall the walleyes might be a little more shallow. Probably 20 feet or less. The best thing you can do is get a good lake map and use your depth finder to find humps, rock points or channels with good structor and contor.
