pool 14 sunday

#709146 - 09/21/08 04:28 PM

I hit the water early today looking for some late summer eyes. The wing dam bite was pretty slow 3 fish in 3 hours. I abandoned the wing dam thing and went and fished a gravel bar in a running slough. The fish were there ,I ended up with 8 eye's for the day. The wingdam fish came on hair jig and crawler. The rest were caught on a lindy rig baited with a crawler. The fish on the gravel were all nice 18 to 19 inchers. It was nice to be back on pool 14 after almost a month off. I didn't see to many people out today , maybe all the grass coming down scared people away. The water temp was back up to 70.5 degrees , we need a few cold nights to get the fall bite going. I can't wait!

Thanks for the update. I hope to get out in the next two weeks or so. Surgery has slowed me up.

JigFan - what kind of boat are you running?

Thanks and have a great day

Good job finding the fish on that gravel bar. Thanks for the report. I just got back from my honeymoon in Montana/Wyhoming and am ready to get back on some eyes!!
