So,

How did the tourney go? What weight won it, biggest fish, etc??

Not too bad of a day to get out..

I don't have the numbers...but from the rumblings I've heard, I think most will be shocked at the weights of the "heavy" Croix stix.

Just got off thephone with a friend and he said "heavy" stringer was 2 fish with about 6 pounds.

All fishing was rough.....except I hammered the smallies targeting sturgeon

Nope ... Heavy stringer was 5 fish for a total of 6.3 pounds. Biggest fish went 3.1 lbs . and biggest ugly fish was 36.7 pounds. Not sure of the winners names but out of 60+ boats with 2 people or more per boat I think a total of 6-8 people are the only ones to weigh fish It was a windy windy windy ruff day out there. I was fishing in the exact same area as the people that won the tourney and I got nothing. I ended the day with a 10-12lb carp, a 36 inch northern, 2 line busters, and many missed bites. Its a sad day on the Croix when you cant even catch a sheepie!!!!! Oh well there is always next year

It was a much nicer day sunday as far as the wind goes . I wish I could have got out. I have been getting my walleye and sauger the last few trips out in 14-18 FOW.

We got two small walleyes in the first 20-30 minutes, and thought we were on to something trolling . Never got another walleye to bite ! Got to the weigh in on time, and there was no where to tie up for a few minutes. By the time we got up there it wasn't even worth weighing them. Saw a few other guys do the same, but I did win a Hydrangea(sp?) plant!

Forgot to mention that it was a fun tournament, and I will definately be fishing it again next year.

That will grow into a nice shrub a medium sized bush with interesting white flowers, or possibly blue depending on your variety. They also look nice in the snow, though naturally they drop their leaves. Plant in partial shade, not full sun as the days heat really will beat on them.

Turkish,
good to hear that you are in tune with the turf as well as the surf. Didn't realize you were such an arborist.

Not sure that the townhome association would be to thrilled with my landscaping skills , but the parents loved it. Thanks for the advice though!
