Thinking about hitting the rum in a few days. Was just curious if anyone has been out lately and how the bite has been. Anything working better than the go-to #5 and #7 raps? We typically target smallies, eyes and pike. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I haven't been out in a few weeks and can't wait to go crush some fish.

There is a very nice silver and shorthead redhorse bite going on right now,I can tell you that. Of course those fish you mentioned are fun too. You may find the river in late fall condition right now, rather low and running quite clear. You may want to consider a slower presentation and look for late season spots. The leaves coming down the river could make things tougher on cranking treble hooks as well.
