The H20 and the Expedition are very similar but how about the Garmin® GPSMAP® 60Cx and GPSMAP® 60CSx or the Garmin® Colorado® Series. I'll be using it mainly for icefishing in Iowa and South Dakota, but also on the soft waters. Any coparisons would be helpful! Thanks.

H20 and Lowrance products all use the same platform to move around from page to page and screen to screen. Plus if you have a chip in your Lowrance (Or Garmin) electronics, the chips should work in your handheld.
I have had a GPSmap 60 for about 5 or 6 years without any issues. It is nearly indestructible; I have dropped it in the parking lot on pavement or gravel, and in the water. (by the way it is water proof and floats) It gets me where I am wanting to go all the time. It interfaces with both of my boats graphs and you always know how precise your positioning is by the size of the circle around your present location. It has a screen that shows what satellites you are locked onto. The only problem I have is with the old mapping software I load does not have accurate maps, I am too cheap to spring for a newer version. Any way I would give the GPSmap 60 a big thumbs up. You are talking about newer versins of the same unit and I personally would not be worried about either one of them.

As long as the units you are referring to both take the Lakemaster/Navionics chips, I would not hesitate buying Garmin or Lowrance.
If you have either in your boat, the "comfort" factor may be greater with one over the other as far as navigating the menus etc... In my opinion, they are both great manufactures.
