I have to run up and show my house to some people but it depends on what the weather looks like in the morning if I drag the boat along.I havnt fished ML in a couple weeks but last time I was up there were a lot of fish stacked in the deeper water off shore and they were biting. So if I do bring the boat up I will be bringing some leeches and minnows along and targeting these fish and leaving the cranks for next week.I still think it is a little early for cranks at least for good numbers of fish but its getting close. Also heard rumor there were some perch being caught.

Will be up Saturday with the crank boxes. Can't imagine the water temp dropped much from last weekend? But at least the moon will be up.

I got a little time today so Ill go out on a limb with a fall prediction It looks to me like things are setting up for a better bite this fall based on what I have seen so far.Everything has been 2-3 weeks behind this year and this doesnt appear to be any different.I just hope winter is also 2-3 weeks behind or its going to be a short season.Like I said I havnt been up for a couple weeks so Ill have a better idea next time I get up and get out to see where these fish are at and how much bait is out there. But there are a lot of fish closer to shore this year so far and at least some will be moving in shallow to feast.I still think it will be similar to last year where some spots will hold a lot of fish and other good spots will be slim pickens. So you may have to do some searching. This is also one of those years where I wont hit the water in the evening without some sort of live bait and some bobber rods for a back up.Like I said there are a lot of fish not far out in deeper water and there just might be enough bait to hold a lot of them there. There can be great action in the fall corking deeper water at night and I think you will see some of the launches out there doing very well this year.

I made it up last night for a quick trip to get my new boat in the water and hopefully get some fish slime in it as well. I accomplised both! My brother had to work so we were only out from 8:30-11:30pm. We ended up boating a 26 and 2 15 inch fish. All the fish came on the inside of the weedline in 3-5 feet. Don't ask me what I was doing in 3 feet, but I made a wide turn and it was fish on. I also spent an hour outside the weedline and over the top with nothing to show for it.
Here's the first walleye in my boat.

Well, as I am unable to troll in my boat, I do a lot of bobber fishing. I was out from 10:00 - 12:30 last night around Isle Bay. Marked a ton of fish. I started in 17 feet. I fished both leeches and minnows on red and yellow hooks. Nothing. I moved to a steep break where it fluctuated between 12 and 28 feet with the stiff wind and about 50 feet of anchor rope out. Again, with the leechs and minnows. I also jigged with a minnow head. Nothing. I then moved to 7 feet with the same presentation. You guessed it - Nada. I really wanted to leave the dock and lift in for a couple weeks. Now I don't see the point. I'll give it a try again tonight to see what happens. Wish me luck. Water temp was 52.7-53.0 degrees.

We managed six eyes pulling cranks tonight. Rock to weed transitions were the only way to go. All fish were caught very close to each other in less then 8' of water. Quite a light show out there for a while. Water temp 52-53.

Wish I had something to report.... Slow bite both during the day and night. Worked the Knox Point area last night. One pike before betting blow off the lake. Water temp was 55.5 for us. Seems like a new weather front blows through every 8 hours or so. If it's not raining, the radar is showing another line heading this way!! We'll be back out tonight. Not sure where?

The front had stuff shut down. We blamed the lightning but who knows. Pulled cranks after the light show and managed 2 fish. Hopefully things are better this week as I'll be back on Wed.

Got a late start on Saturday so I figured I would try Isle bay for some perch. Not much going on there so we hit a couple spots for walleyes on the way back and that was slow to.Headed back out at 4 till dark and caught some eaters and some small fish in 32 FOW.Missed quite a few to but I also think these were small fish.Fish were caught on bobbers and leeches.Next time I will bring some minnows along.
