Jig weights rite now have been 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 depending on where you fish. The 4 most popular launch's are hidden falls, lillydale, 494 and st paul park. All are good it just depends on what part to the river you want to fish.

Never heard of Bud's landing. Is that one of the marinas?

Buds is a private landing, from what I've heard he only sells x number of keys each year for the duck hunters. Getting a boat larger than a jon boat out from buds is challenging, you have to know the route to get to the main channel. Lots of hidden obstacles back in that back water.

I've never used Buds landing personally, but I have run around back there in the jon and big boat.

Welcome James! Your best bet right now is to fish the wingdams. Most of them are from the airport and downstream. They are a little tougher to locate right now because of the lack of flow. A lot of them are located by the red and green buoys. And a lot of them are between them as well. Do a search on the site of "wingdam fishing" and you will get a wealth of info. Good luck!

i was looking for a launch further down the pool than st. paul park....but it sounds like bud's is out.

James....I just started fishin P-2 this year and i found the maps at this site extremely helpful. it has most of the dams marked.

Is St. Paul Park the Lions Levey launch? How is the depth lately? I was last there in July and it was pretty shallow at the river entrance then so?? Thinking of heading out this weekend instead of hitting the croix. Thanks.

Levee is the same as it was in July. Still plenty of room just dont cut any corners
