STABILITY.... It's a GOOD thing!!

#714357 - 10/15/08 05:54 AM

Here in Borderland we've been greeted with one front after another. Looks like we have some stability coming into our weather pattern. Lots of nice fish are being landed, but haven't put any monsters in the boat for the past 4 days. Look for the big girls to tear it up in the coming weeks!! Fishing pressure is non-existent!! Yesterday saw 2 boats on the lake TOTAL!! With any weather you see nearly nobody!! Fishermans Paradise. Last couple days the biggest fish have been 4 (24's) and 1 (24.5) with the bulk of th fish measuring 19-22. Not the freaks, but still nice healthy fish!! Still have time for your trophy boys and girls!! I'm fishing til Deer Camp THEN... Look out 30 Pointer!! I've had the whole off season to figure your whereabouts!! LOL!! Good Fishing Team!! Ice fishing dates are starting to fill up fast. With this Fall bite taking shape it looks like first ice is going to be awesome!!

Have the fish started to move into the Rainy River yet? I noticed some small talk of some fish, but these fish look like resident river fish, and not the lake fish. I have not hit the fall bite on Rainy in quite a while.

Thanks for the update.

We are heading up at 6 am on Saturday morning to fish the Rainy and LOTW. I had a friend come back on Sunday and said that the fishing was very good . They were on the lake and in the river and caught fish in both places. They said that the lake was hotter than the river and they were having 100 plus fish days. Jig and shiners were the ticket.
I will post a report when we get back next Thursday!
I can't wait to get back on the river. It has been along time since April.

Hey Guys,

River is starting to heat up, but still not filled with the big guys yet. We are going to get pretty cold tonight, and that is what it takes to get those big lake fish moving up chasing shinners. River had been pretty low, but is coming up with recent monsoon like rains. River is also a bit muddy, but should clear back up soon. We were on the lake today, and fish weren't snapping. Biggest fish went 25 with some 16-19 inch fish, crappies, smallies, perch and pike. LOL!!! Could have put the hammer down on some crappies probably, but we were chasing walleyes!! A little bit of everything!!
