Wanted to get a quick report out for guys thinking of heading out. Spent last night on the water with an old tournament partner that I haven't seen in too long!
Launched out of Hunters and hit the water last night @ 4:30 and bobbered until dark with limited resutlts. Moved over in to the east side rocks and trolled until just after midnight.
It was windy on the east side and boat control was a bit of work but had good results compared to the reports we are reading. We ended up with 10 walleyes and 6 keepers. We focused on 4-9' and stick baits were the best for us. Colors did not matter as we caught fish on 5 different ones - keep trying but most importantly keep your baits in the zone. Speeds were around 1.5 - 1.7, close to 2 at times to keep out of the rocks, only had one close encounter...
With the gas prices down, full moon, and good times to spend with friends. Grab a couple guys and head up. Plenty of options to catch fish and no matter where the wind is headed out of, work which ever side of the lake you are comfortable with.
I am looking forward to another evening of memories tonight!!!
