Last Saturday I was fishing around L&D 3. Yeah...if you saw the pontoon in the way of all the walleye guys that was me. Thanks for not yelling at me guys!
There was a dozen or so folks up from Iowa and a few regular River Rats fishing sauger/walleyes in the dam area.
Our group watched these fisher folk in between bites. There were some fish coming in, but we didn't see anything too big...in fact we had to squint to see if they were saugers or little perch.
Today...just three days later, it was a different story. Although we didn't see any huge fish, there were pleanty of eater sauger caught.
It seemed like there was always someone pulling up a fish...they must have returned the Redneckcracker Ring Worms and picked up some BK Semi Pro Blue Lizards.
With the Saugerama this weekend the hot bite is right on schedule.
If you haven't made your guess for the Saugerama now is the time! How can you turn down a chance at a free St Croix Rod?
Also, there is a Beckman Photo contest going on in the General Forum. For the cost of emailing in a photo, there's a chance of winning a Beckman of your choice. See official rules for details.
Redneck knocked on my door about 6 pm tonight with a neighborly gift. Sure beat my planed Spam and Onion sandwiches.
The only thing I could think of that would be better is a beautiful Everts sunset to enjoy the fish with.
Well, I am back in the real world after a great 4 days at Evert's I have to be honest, the boy fried the sauger---he takes after his mother---he can cook We got our butts whipped at Saugerama but we almost were in the hunt. We were 2 pounds out of first and I lost a very nice fish that would have replaced a 15 incher. I even have a witness to the one that got away---Stuart was fishing the same area and he saw it before it came unbuttoned right behind the boat. Let's just say he also heard my release
