Pool 8 Wednesday Night Therapy 10/15/08

After reading Jeff Jensen’s report on a great walleye wing dam outing Mike C and myself could not wait for work to get over with so we could froth the water on a couple of are favorite wingies And now that AmWatson’s back to work with things starting to settle down for him getting back to normal, it was a pleasure to have him join us on therapy night
Well Jeff……are hats are off too ya…… because them eyes are still deceiving us but thank the good Lord for other species of fish

AmWatson stuck the first fish pitching a B Fish N Tackle precision jig head with a ring worm to the face of a wing dam. After the fish broke surface it became evident that Wats did not have an eye but it was a toad of a LM Bass. It was great seeing you back in action again Wats Then it was my turn, the Spook Jr. I was tossing over the rocks brought up another LM Bass. It would have been cool to been able to get a pic, this was the 3rd Bass I caught this year with cool looking beauty marks but this fish was bleeding just a little so I released her immediately so not to put anymore more stress on her.

Then someone flip the switch and Mike C became the pike master. Mike had 2 nice pike slam a purple shad rap off the tips of 2 different wing dams. If these toothy’s would have had the bait by another 1/4inch Mike would have been bit off, nice fish buddy Mike

Before dark the decision was made to drag some meat. We started off in 20fow, it wasn’t long and Wat’s fishing rod was doubled over after something took the offering of his hair jig and the reel was playing the song of drag We were excited to finally be getting our hands on a big eye until the battle came to the surface and the big grey fish laid on it’s side Looked like a lot of fun to catch though

All in all, it was a great evening of therapy. Just being on the river mid week is a big help for getting to the weekend. The Bluffs right now are around 75percent with colors. What better way to take in the sites other than bobbing around on the river, thanks for the fun guys

Good luck fishing people

That was a blast Bret and Wats - when we doin' it again - the sequel to Grumpy Old Men? Thanks for the wing dam report Jeff that got us out there trying wingies but like Bret said we're still trying to perfect that approach - - - but practice makes perfect.

Bret forgot to mention that one of those ugly looking eels fell off the first pike - Bret tried his darndest to squeeze it's head with his new pliers - man them things are ugly.

The water temps are coming back down, 58 last night, so things should start picking up for fall "eye" action.

Great therapy report Bret. Good to see Am back in the mix with you along with the pike master. Nice pics!
Bass, northerns, walleyes, even sheepies this time of year........it's all good
Guessing there were a few chuckles last night?

Good outing guys!

I've got to sneak out for some fishing and not let my hunting dogs see me go....

Once again, it was a great time out on the water with Mike and Bret. Those two are pure comedy when they get together
I also want to thank Mike C for keeping all the northern on his side of the boat so I didn't have to catch one
