I think my glow plugs are bad on my truck. Wondering how big of a job this is and how much I should expect to pay? Thanks Jeff

Have them tested first , it could be just g/p relay or even the g/p module,if found bad it takes around 3.5-4 hrs to change out . The right side is not easy to do at all.

Did all of them in a 99 and did the relay last year at the same time. It wasnt hard at all and it only took me 2-3 hours. I cant remember the price I was quated but only had a few hundred into parts, I remember I saved myself a lot of $$$. Start with the relay, change that and see if the problem is solved, thats only a 15 min job.

A 99 vs. an 04 are two different motors. I switched plenty of glow plugs in 7.3s 99-early 03, but I havent worked on a 6L. I would get them checked first, you can usually get a resistance reading through the connectors on the valve cover gaskets on the 7.3s, not sure about the 6L

Differant motors---same problem. I have a few of each and wouldnt hesitate to change them in one of my 6.0 ltrs. but would try the relay first. Still need to take the valve covers off no matter which engine I would think its not a whole lot differnt. Maybe a few more things to take appart to get the covers off.

Another thing which I would have to reasearch is I think they went away from glow plugs at some point and went with a intake heater???? not sure would have to do the reasearch first.
