Looks like it's opening up here and there downtown Fort,  will be trying my luck Friday after work and maybe Sat morning.  I was up at the Dells Feb 11th going through Sauk City saw one boat out on the Wis river.

yeah its open here in janesville and indianford area too. will be at indianford on saturday morning for a little while.

Hi Denny. Drove past Fort to have dinner at the Anchor Inn with bride and son, before heading to the madison fishing Expo. There was some open water at Fort, but a bunch of ice too, so too early to launch a boat. My guess is that Blackhawk is all iced up. Newville, however, was wide open as far up and downriver I could see from the 59 bridge,and looked pretty inviting, Might try to get out there with the winter boat this week. It won't be long, fellas.

Good to see Wefish and EZ at the show, sorry we didn't hook up more for talking fishing but duty calls. Should be a big turn out today, I'll be hanging around Don's Marine LLC today so stop by and let's talk fishing and boats. I'll back to fin-tech booth Sunday.

Lots of shore fishing coming and going today wetting their line. I myself managed to soak a line after work and came up empty handed water is still to cold. One fine looking ranger boat managed to open the downtown launch and tried their luck up and down the river as far as they could go. Lots of large ice flows coming down the river.

I managed to see some nice big walleyes caught off the wall today I even had to call Databoy twice, I applaud the one fine sportsman  for letting his go back to swim another day.  I hope your pictures turn out on your cell phone.

Andy, my spot was open and I fished from 4-4:30 without losing a jig. The river is now open from Fort to the marina. I'd expect it open past the boat launches in 4-7 days depending on what that heavy rain this weekend does.

Went over the Hwy 26 Bypass bridge it looked open up and down river, could not see if the launch area was open yet.

First eye for 09,
Got on the wall around 6:30am cloudy,raining which never let up and slight fog. I caught this nice 18 inch eater around 8:15am and that was my only catch. Fished till about noon. I did see one brave soul go out in a boat.

Good way to start the season, Andy. Loks like the main boat's gonna have to come out soon.
Actually hit Newville yesterday for a few hours in the afternoon with the 12 ftr. Made a few drifts from just up from the 59 bridge to just past the 90 bridge, and nada. tried anchring a couple spots and worked current breaks, and not a bite....but after this rain, things should start picking up. CU guys n the water one of these days soon.

Hi Jeff,
It was a short morning for Me 6:30am to 9:30am nothing going on. Water level did'nt come up much forgot to take water Temp, but there was alot of debris floating down. O yeah,got another wet behind again today.

fished till 11:30 today.got there just as andy was leaving,had 2 hits but nothing more,did end up with a wet butt also,lol.one hit on jig,other on minnow dead stickin.

fished a bit fri aft and sat am,water levels making it tough,moved around to diff spots,not much going on for me.may have to tie a few spawn sacs,and go to harbors till water level goes down.

fished sat and sun by the park area,put the smack down on some whites.also mananged some sheephead,carp,and couple walleyes.purple/red flies on wolf river rig was doing the trick
