THOUGHT I'D GIVE YOU SPIRIT LAKE BASSERS A LITTLE TASTE OF THINGS TO COME. THIS IS A NICE 20" SMALLMOUTH MY SON DUSTIN CAUGHT AND RELEASED LAST AUGUST.
Luckily we only have to wait till ice out, no season in Iowa. I'm not a big bass fisherman but early spring is a blast and gets a guy ready for summer. We have had some great days just after ice out sight fishing smallies.
Grew up fishing Spirit and camping at Marble Beach. My wife, kids and I even did it for 12 years after moving to SD. Haven't fished there since 2001, but looks like we will have to go back and troll some plugs along Marble and Buffalo Run. I think that is about as calm as I have any seen Big Spirit.
