Lake Fork 3/2/09- Look up Tom Redington for a great guide (he posts reports here)9-2 and 2 7-11! Most likely I wont beat that but love to see the local pigs coming in so will check back!

A good start on pool 4/5. Now that the first tournament is over I can post some pictures and details. The LM was caught on April 16 out of last years emergent vegetation on a black/blue swimjig. she went 6 lbs on my scale. The SM was caught off a wing dam on april 22. She came on a Northland Mimic Minnow and went 4-15. I didn't measure her but she is very heavy for her length.

Here are a few I got today fishing from a canoe in a farm pond. We caught 19 fish with only 2 under two pounds. Not bad for the first time bass fishing from a canoe.

Had one of 'those days' pre-fishing for a tournament...just seeing 'what' they wanted...turned out, pretty much whatever I tossed...
One on the bed...water is really clear for this part of the world...4 ft visibility
Started out tossing a BPS XPS Buzzbait in the early hours
18-19 inch class fish
quit that...moved on to a floating Rogue (night before had caught quite a few bucks on a 1/4 oz PopR)...20 inch class fish with an interesting feature...
a little better angle
finally, finished up tossing a jig...
These fish were fun...and almost 'Laufenberg' quality 
I actually was sort of trying not to catch big fish...but sometimes you just can't keep them off the hook

This smallie is my first of 2009 and my 2nd biggest Illinois smallie. I caught it out of a creek that is about 10' wide. It came on a black and red chigger craw rigged on a parasite weights sweet shakey. It was fun trying to figure out how to get her up to the top of the bridge

For a change of pace, I ended up on an West Metro Lake this morning with a friend of mine. I think we had six flyrods between us and about 1000 flies. And what do you know, we caught some fish. The best was this 20 incher that hit a deer hair topwater over some coontail.

Here is a few smallies from this morning all on a mille lacs area lake but not the pond. fun fishing for a few hours till it got hot and couldnt find the fish anymore. the last picture the one on the left i had to keep he swallowed the tube so far i could only see the top of the tube and the eye of the hook.

Mississippi River Pool 8 Bass on a musky plug.
This toad slammed an Orange Tiger Tally Wacker while casting for Pike with authority.
I was also impressed with the fight this toad put up while being hauled in on Heavy tackle. The pig was diggin’ for cover like a buffalo running from Indians.

Put this 21.25" in the boat last night on a south metro lake. She went 5.0lb on the money though sadly, but was a great fight caught in the heavy pads with a Spro Bronzeye popper.

here is my best smallie caught in july 2009 while fishing for carp and redhorse. a beautiful fish from the most beautiful river i have ever fished in. its experiences like this that i will never EVER forget
