For those of you that fish hayward area the ice is off every where! Watched it go off round sat am, drove over to grindstone it was clear of ice also. This means our indian friends will have their way with the spearing ,

Great news, now I just need to figure out what lakes I am going to fish around that area for opener
I am not going to comment on your second topic

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

There is one less "Indian friend" out there now. A boat capsized crossing LCO Sat PM. Two kids and their father out spearing. The kids made it to shore but the father was not so lucky. Still missing after a three day search effort.

This is good news for me (the ice-out part, I too will withhold comment on the second part) since I'll be at Nelson lake in a little over a week!

Either way the loss of life is still not good. Our native friends are out at it over here too!!! And I am sure a small group is on their way to Mille Lacs as well. I am seeing more 2's for daily bag limits than I have seen for awhile.
