Hi guys, just wondering how the opener was on Red? I will be heading to the Bemidji area in Mid-June and planning a day on Upper Red. I have not been up that way since before the walleye fishing was re-opened.

Friends of ours reported they did not launch their boat. They camped at Big Bog and caught approx. 100 walleyes shore fishing the river.

Did well. Sat was slow by URL standards but still better than virtually anyplace else. Second day our best boat got 93 and second best was 55. Both 3-man boats. The big pike sure were snapping this year. That river bite on opener was incredible! They were pulling them in so fast you would swear they were fishing silver bass. We chose not to participate and fished the big water exclusively.

Thanks for the reports guys. I know it is a while away but I will try to post a report if I get up there later in June.

Kudos to you Suzuki for giving those spawners and post-spawners a break.
