Made it out to Wagon Train last night since the wind finally layed down(you know your from Nebraska when you say the wind layed down and it's still blowing 15mph). I was able to catch an 8" LMB, and a 20" walleye. The walleye came out of 4 FOW on the north end of the lake and still had a belly full of eggs. I'm no expert but that is a little unusual this time of year with 70 degree water isn't it?
It's not unusual at all for a few females to not drop their eggs in April. The spawning habitat on our little reservoirs here in Eastern Nebraska isn't the best for natural reproduction anyway. Females that don;t lay their eggs will absorb them and continue life as normal.
