My son (wimwuen) and I made our way to Lake Pepin today to get in on what has been called a very good bite on cranks and leadcore , and we were not disappointed to say the least! At 12:00 noon, the leadcore rod I was standing near doubled over to the water, and after a relatively short battle, a very chunky 29" walleye came to the net, and while we admired her, a planer board on the other side of the boat went back, and I grabbed that rod and proceeded to haul in a hefty 26" fish for my second fish in a two minute span! Talk about excitement! The one pic is me with the bigger fish, and the other is of me with both. Both fish were carefully released, and I hope somebody fishing with their son can have the experience we did!

What cranks were you using?
I fish the Miss in the Quad Cities and have success with planers. Never tried core though.

What general area were you guys fishing? We were fishing the wisconsin side of the lake with about the same results.

We fished the Minnesota side today. We never made it to our second spot. That's a good problem to have though.
