I spent 2 days down on pool 3 exploring, I've dabbled alittle down there but I wanted to go down and work it over and holy cow what a fishery, I caught good numbers of nice eaters and medium size fish and some real nice big fish. Friday I caught 3 over 28 with my personnal best of 28.75. Saturday my neighbor and I went back down and had the same kind of day with good numbers and one 27 incher. I mainly fished crawlers but did throw some cranks without much luck. I had a few spots that were kicking out fish casting cranks on pool 2 but its been spotty. All in all it was a great experience on pool 3 except for the guy that dropped anchor right in the middle of the dam I was fishing, I'd expect this from a rookie but these guys didn't seem like that  oh well.

were you pitching jigs and crawlers, or dragging/rigging live bait?

Nice fish!!! He was probably draggin if mentioning a boat posting up in the middle of dam. Just my guess, nice work!

I was pulling a 3- way, I have never tried the jig dragging thing, I will pitch if I get them nailed down but I just hate dealing with an anchor over and over, especially if I'm by myself  By next weekend everything will be diffrerent anyway so I have to start from scratch.Here's a nice pic of my favorite fish.

sippi...I'm interested in your technique if you're willing to share. Are you pulling 3-ways along the front side of dams? if so...ive tried that a couple times but gave up because it was hard to control the boat right.

Yes I am doing just that and yes it takes alot of practice, One thing you can do is pick a landmark like the buoy or something on shore to give you a reference, if your not watching something you will be all over the place. The guy who taught me boat control could probably tape a pen to the bow of his boat and sign autographs  Practice makes perfect.

well...i'm impressed and thanks for the reply. Its gonna take some practice for sure....the current flow increases as you move out from shore...making it even more interesting...add in some wind and i'll be cursing at my worthless powerdrive foot control (hate that thing) in no time.

The best dam boat in my opinion is a 14ft flat with a 20 horse, I have a 19ftboat so I sit in the back on the T8 kicker, I have a minnkota with the 20ft cord up front. I run the kicker with my right hand, the bow mount with my left foot and the rod in my left hand while I watch the GPS, hopefully there aren't any mosquitos out.

Nice report Sippi! I gotta make it down to 3 one of these days. I used to fish it a lot. but with 2 right out my back door I've kinda got away from it.
