Campground Recommendation for Pepin???

#799535 - 07/02/09 10:30 AM

I'm planning a camping trip in early september with some friends and my two boys...we will be tenting and I'd like to find a place on Pepin...Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent family friendly campground for tenting on Pepin?

The Lake Pepin campground on the north end of Lake City isn't bad. I think a site with electric is like $20 a night. I usually stay there in April and May while practicing and fishing a couple of tournaments.

Frontinac is nice.

I'll second that. And there's a nice beach for swimming.

Ho Si La (may be somewhat misspelled) on the North side of Lake City is great! It is an old boy scout camp right on Pepin with mature trees, and a nice swimming beach. They won't let you keep your vehicle or boat near your site overnight - they have a parking lot - but that is the only negative. Oh, and the other negative is there are loud train noises overnight.
