Hello. Just trying to find a website that has good deals on stainless steel props. Looking for 13.25 X 17. Not really looking for specific brand. iboats.com is the best I have found so far. Also, has anyone experieced the newer hub II system that absorbs the damage rather than the gearing when hitting something? Thanks for your replies in advance.

Ya know, I hear of a lot of chewed up stainless props, unless the person takes big parts off the lower unit, I can't actually recall anyone actually (claiming) having lower unit problems due to the prop not giving enough.
I really do believe that it's pretty much a myth, if you're going to hit something hard enough and large enough, I don't think the prop is going to save you, plenty of people have their props rebuilt, without any lower unit work.
I guess what I'm saying is, I worry less about the prop, and more about hitting stuff
Edit: Sorry to answer your real question at hand, there can be some good deals on Ebay, Craigslist is another you can find some deals on, both of which you're going to spend a lot of time to find a good deal.
Cabela's store bargin cave's seems to have some fair deals on props too, not sure about the bargin cave online...

Give Soderblooms a look when you get a chance. They turned a damaged prop for me at a reasonable cost, and I know they do a ton of prop business.

Don`t forget not all stainlesss props are created equal. There is a huge difference in performance from brand and props within a brand. Some three blades are worthless in rough water where others are very good. Grip is a big thing when makeing turns. Some stainless won`t let you make a turn unless you trim way down or they blow out.
To me price isn`t the altimate factor it`s getting what I pay for and expect.

Tom,
Do you have any specific suggestions as far as brand and model? Or what to look for in a SS prop? Ted runs a 17 ft polarcraft full console with a 115 Mercury 2+2.
Thanks,
FDR
PS. Ted, you got to post a picture of your current high performing prop.

propmd.com in Eden Prarie.
Apollo at $239 (includes hub) Powertech at $299
They were very helpful and worked with me to get the correct prop, and close to me to drive and pick up a prop as needed. I tried a couple different brands and sizes and ended up going with a 16p Powertech.

I have a 16 1/2 ft. smokercraft walk thru with a 75 2stroke Merc. and have a 13x18 Merc. Vengence which works great. It gets up really quick with 2 guys and gear, and doesn't even struggle with 3 guys loaded. Found mine on Craigs list for $200 which was a steal. I would think that a 13 1/4x17 would be to small and you would over rev. Definately talk to a prop guy before you invest the money unless it's a super deal.

I second Soderblooms up in Crosby. Ask for Mark he will take care of you and their prices are great.

Thanks,
I have had great results for my rig with Powertech prop. Handles rough water very well, grips in the turns very good, and hole shot is great. What ever kind of prop you go with make sure you have the vent holes, will amaze you on the hole shot. My rig I put the hammer down my RPMS hit 4000 and the boat catches up. This is the way the vent holes are suppose to work. Acts like a slip clutch to let the engine get into it`s peak power right now.
