Not a Salmon, but I'll take it.

I got out on my favorite East Metro Bass Lake early this morning for some Fly rod Bass fishing. There was a decent topwater bite from 5-6 AM and then as it got lighter the bass moved out to the weed edges. On a whim, I tied on a fly that was created for Silver Salmon fishing in Alaska. It's called a Flash Fly, it uses a gob of silver Flashabou and some hackle feathers. This 20 incher sure liked the looks of it! I think I need to try this out on Pool 2 White Bass too...
Note....The lakes are still terribly low in this area. This lake in particular is at least 3 feet below normal pool. This is making navigation and boat launching difficult. The access is very shallow; I had to drag the boat out into the lake before I could get in. Be careful!

Nice bass Rootski. Even though the launch is poor the parking lot always seems to be full when I drive by. Your picture shows why it is worth the effort.
