I was just wondering if any other IDO'ers fished the 4-man tourney out of Prairie du Chien. Our team finished 8th out of 42 teams. Fellow members Bucketmouth1(Jon Jensen) and I in one boat and Nathan Budach(Boods) and his dad Greg in the other. With a huge fog bank hanging on us for the start the start was delayed 2 hours. We had 11 fish out of 12 fish limit for 23 lbs. I believe 32 lbs won it. Most fish came out of deep slop caught on frogs. It was zoo with 84 boats waiting to launch and load up. We missed our fair share and look forward to next year. Just curious how everybody else did? Dan

Congratulations to Glenn Walker and his team. They finished third with I believe 26 pounds and something ounces  It was a tough bite yesterday.

The bite definately got tough on Sunday. Running in that fog got the blood going in the morning though!!

Good job big tall guy! That launch had to have been a cluster %$@!.
Watching you guys and seeing the results this year leads me to believe that you all had a break out season. I guess what it all boils down to is.........you guys are insane

Me and my son fished it but we just couldn't find a way to put enough fish in the boat. We ended up with 8 fish. The topwater bite for us was really slow. Alot of half hearted strikes and very few follow up hits. That being said all 8 of our keepers came on frogs.
We were going to stay around after the weighin but after parking our boats in a residential area were a little afraid when we came back we might have some gear missing. Congrats to the place winners!!

Our team ended up in 15th place with only eight fish.My boat hasn't seen the Mississippi for 5+years(  where is all the water,i was seeing cover that i used to catch fish on), the game plan was to head to my back yard and catch smallies, but that changed when i couldn't read the river by 10:30, due to the fog. We ended up choosing to head north and flip and pitch our way back(didn't prefish for the tourney),caught plenty of fish(just too short),and only managed a couple 15" keepers. Our partners boat went slop fishing all day and caught 6-14" keepers(they went limit fishing and we went hog fishing). All in all,it was great to fish the Miss again and to fish a tourny for the first tome in 9 or 10 years.Next year we will be a little more prepared. My brother and I are considering tournament fishing again, now that the kids are big enough to understand and maybe even participate. Congrats to all who cashed.

Thanks BM1, it made me remember the ups and downs of tourny fishing(the ups outweighed the downs) and ready to start fishing the Mighty Miss alot more. I will be exploring the lower end in the next few weeks to see how it is compared to my past experiences(we guessed up river and after 1 hour my gut said wrong choice, and the weigh-in confirmed it). Maybe even start fishing a few tournys and finally join a club. Stay in touch, I need to take you and Boods, and my son smallie fishing next spring(when they're on fire ofcourse).

Your boat hit the river last spring... I can see I need to show you again how to catch baitfish on the river. There were only 15 boats in the tourny?

If i recall, at least i've managed to catch some fish as of late compared to your bottom feeder expeditions(if not show pics  ). I don't recall fishing last spring on the miss or ever taking lessons on bait fish from bottom feeders.  O-yeah,i remember walleye fishing on pool 4 last spring,but don't remember fishing for bass/baitfish.

My group of 4 finished in 5th with 24.45. One boat went north and one boat went south with both boats bringing in there 6 fish each.

Bass guys are so sensitive. Down right emotional at times. I propose a bet. Next spring at Red Wing. You in your rig and me in mine. a neutral location. A fish neither of us calls their primary target.... Biggest fish and most fish. 10 bucks per category. (false bites don't count  )
