thinking of investing in a crankbait rod soon just wondering wut u guys prefer? i have a 6'10" browning medallion right now and its ok...i just dont have a whole lot of feel with it, interested to see wut u guys have to say  thanx

just casting on rip rap and wood on the main channel...rocks and wood. smaller bass cranks anywhere from 2 ft divers to 12-15 ft divers

I use a 7'6" shimano crucial medium heavy / extra fast and absolutely love it. Are you any where near Thorne Brother's?

The Mojo cranking rod is excellent. i picked one up from Dean at Everts and you will be surprised how nice the rod is for the money you pay.

Come on Joe, casting cranks is casting cranks,regardless of species.IMO,the moderate action is the key to a good crank rod regardless of the brand or species.

I've always desired a more moderate speed in rod action when throwing cranks. Doesn't matter if it is walleye or brown bass or green bass, or river or lake.
I'm still the type of guy that prefers a shorter stick (6'6") too, especially when tossing around wood and what not, to keep cast more accurate and pin-point.
Longer rods have their purposes, but for the most part, they are really just clumsey.

As much as I hate using an orange fishing pole, the 7'2" MH Crankin Stick is an awesome rod for both cranks and swim jigs. Also take a look at the Loomis Crankbait rods, those have a good action to them as well but 80 bucks or so more expensive.

I picked up a Carrot stik parabolic 7 ft rod in the gold series wqhich has the split cork grips. I realy like it. I fish walleye mostly but love fishing smallies and I cannot believe how sensitive this rod is with braid. Really lite weight as I have it paired with a Revo Premier.

got out this past weekend and really worked a bit on my cranking...something I truthfully 'suck' at especially as I haven't done much of it and have a real crisis of confidence in...
Ended up using a Norman Deep Little N in a 'tough to find' color (Mad Dad) on my Cabelas XML 7 foot medium action rod with Curado E5 reel and 8# Trilene 100% Flouro...
Catching them on cranks ain't hard. Finding the right spots to toss those durn cranks is a whole 'nother story.
Found a couple spots that worked real well and was able to go for about 10 very nice bass in the 3-4 pound class...
Now, can't wait to try some more cranking...
