had a great multi species day on the Croix on Labor Day. Nothing to write home about but the fish were snappin' trolling and rigging crawlers. going to get nothing but better. water temp was 71 degrees and there is a slight algae bllom still going.
Sounds like a good day, were you targeting any 1 specific species or just fished for them all?
Water temp seems fairly warm for this cool weather we've been having. Now that Labor Day is over I'll be on the water a bit more, hopefully the tuna boats will start to thin out and the fishing.....well it's the Croix the fishing is always good
not really targeting anything specific except when trolling. didn't catch any 'eyes or sauger. crawlers were putting smallies in the boat. nice ones too. was down by a community spot and saw the white bass start to tear up some minnows. by the time we got over there a big muskie surfaced a couple of times and ran thru the school. they were out of there as fast as they came!
