I need a new locator but can only spend about $600 or $700. I fish between 10 and 20 fow for pan fish and walleyes. What's the best for the buck? I do enjoy a wide screen.

I run both Humminbird and Lowrance on my boat. Humminbird for its side scan (997cSI) and Lowrance for its 2D capabilities. I think Lowrance definitely has a leg up on the bird when deciphering bottom, so I'd have to recommend a Lowrance color unit. Plenty of LMS520cs on Ebay for under 5 hundo.

I have an LMS520c and love it. They don't make them any more but you can find them around.

If you can find a lowrance lms 520 or 522 they are a good unit and have seen them for 399,check Cabelas
