I spent the last couple days in Thailand and the action for big fish was incredible. I connected with numbers and size on this trip.
I started out with a nice Java Barb.
And then this Giant Gourami might be a PB but I didn't weigh it.
The following one is still up for ID confirmation but I believe it is a Shark Catfish which would make it a new lifelister. It is different than the Striped Catfish in it's subterminal mouth and color on its back is green.
That pacu had to give you an awesome tussle. A 1Lb gill puts up an inspired battle... that pacu looks like it would have the same characteristics with 10# more oooomfff to throw around.
As always... I love reading your updates.

The Java Barb was caught on my patented Flip-flop fly and the Pacu and Gourami were caught on a wad of bread. I caught about 40 Java Barb on my Flip-flop fly after throwing in fish pellets they come up to feed and are fooled by my imitation. The Barb in the picture happened to be the biggest one. The Pacu and Gourami I have also caught before on fruit like bananas and Lumnyai (a locally grown Thai fruit).
