Plan on leaving Friday afternoon from central Iowa to fish the Miss. I have been getting reports that the weeds floating down have gotten so bad that it's almost not worth it. How far north would I have to travel to get out of this stuff? Or as far as that goes, maybe even south. Was planning on P9 this weekend

The first local hard frost of the Fall (Oct 8th/9th this year) triggers a healthy flush every year. Duration & severity is another story but I will tell you as we put more and more distance from the frost date ~ conditions will improve.

Was in the upper end of P9 last weekend, and had what looked like muskrat mounds of grass coming down and raising hell with my trolling motor. Is it still as bad?

We has grass in pool 5 a week ago. We were going to fish today, but instead of grass, the weather changed our mind. We're white here in Rochster and roadways did not dodge this bullet. All kinds of slipping and sliding going on today.
