Pool 4 quick report - plus COOKIE RECIPE!!!

#830462 - 10/28/09 08:43 PM

Hit P4 with Joe Winter today. Nice day to be out, very comfortable fishing. I think the fish were a touch "off" from the rain/changing water levels, but they were certainly still there and stacked in some places. The SI showed them clear as day.

We ended up with around 20 in our half day of fishing, all saugers. Mostly 3-way. We tried pitching and some blades, but with little success.

All in all, a nice day to be on the water with the big guy! Thanks for the company, Joe!

No-bake cookie recipe for Dean.... Hope your tooth is feeling better! Might want to consider eating less cookies???

1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Melt above ingredients in saucepan.

Remove from heat and add about 1 cup peanut butter, 1 tsp vanilla and 2-3 cups of oats. Stir until mixed, then drop spoonfuls onto wax paper or cookie sheet. Let cool and enjoy!

Oh ya - Thanks a ton Dean for letting us use your Legend Extreme... Definately "the Cadillac" of rods as Mr. Ritter said, there is none finer! Nice meeting you guys, too - Erick and Jaime - while you minded the store for Dean. Thanks for all of those free blade baits!!! (JUST KIDDING DEAN!) lol

Mike

Well maybe if someone would have a cheat sheet and everything set up for the rookies we would be a little more help Dean-o an BK enough out of you please. The bite overall for us was pretty slow yesterday with the change in flow an temp! Our numbers overall were down but there are fish to be found out there if you can pinpoint their location. We ended with 1 nice fish for the day but other than that not to much to brag about. Nice meeting you guys as well by the way!

What was the difference? Did we have fast and the other one was extra fast or something???

Felt good to me, I guess!

Great as always to get out with you WHITT. Unfortunately it does not happen nearly enough. Probably won't happen again until out January LOW trip, which is going to be sweet as always.

As whitt was saying things were a little slow but still fairly productive. 3-ways got our fish with Bleeding Blue Shad (F7) being the most productive as this day. It was amazing to see the fish stacked in certain areas with the SI, just stubborn to get to bite with the tactics we were using.

Dean and crew, thanks for all the info. and use of the Rod. I will be down again Monday with the FIL and wouldn't mind trying the real Cadillac blade rod.

Heck Big E...I grabbed the wrong rod myself for one of the Yoopers to try at Vert Blades...grabbed the EX66MF instead of the EX68MXF...
Need to get better lighting in that baitshop!
