Shortie pool 2 report

#830502 - 10/29/09 01:13 AM

Actually, not much to report beyond that I got out for a few hours with Pete Bauer on pool 2 today. The bite was pretty slow to be honest. We caught some "short" fish but even those were far and few between. We started at 1:30 PM and fished until 5 PM or so. I'm not sure if things got rolling closer to dark as we left before prime time. We did get to test out some new HD camera gear that is the absolute bomb but if you're looking for an insider tip that will put you on some big ol' river walleyes... sorry, we got nuttin'.

Thanks for fishing with me today, Pete. I'll likely be headed out again next week with a new bag of "makeshift" plastic to do more field testing. It was a pleasure fishing with you today.

Bummer on the slow bite. Are you guys posting any video you shot? I'm wishing I was out there now... 50 degrees and light wind. Man!

Not this time around. Although I did get to do a little fishing this outing had a purpose outside of getting some footage here for the site. I was learning our new HD camera equipment and worked on training in a second IDO camera guy so Mark Johnson could get a day off from time to time so the footage was more than a little rough. But I will be out on the water with Pete again in the next couple weeks and I would anticipate putting that camera to good use and get some footage up here on the site.

Sounds like the "calm before the storm". The bite was off here a bit as well.

James, if this guy doesn't work out or you need another camera guy, let me know. Talk about a dream job!!

Good to see you guys out there. The bite was pretty slow for us also. Just one of those off days. For what we did catch it was still a K grub bite. Hope to get back out sometime over the weekend.

I'll second that. It was a tough one for me today on 4. That new sno suit sure made being out there today much more enjoyable!
